Want to partner? Have advice? Want to grab a coffee? Let me know.
What did you study in school?
I went to Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas where I received a bachelor of science in fashion merchandising with a double minor in advertising and business administration.
Why and when did you start food blogging?
I started food blogging back in May of 2017. I have always wanted to start my own blog but was really nervous of putting myself out there (can anyone else relate?) and didn’t know what I wanted to talk about. That same year, I went to a Create and Cultivate panel at SXSW and was really inspired by all the entrepreneurs and bloggers around me… I left really inspired that March and decided to launch my blog two months later.
I decided I wanted my niche to be food because I love food photography and food styling (to this day taking an overhead shot of my food is my favorite thing to do). I also really loved the epic food scene here in town and felt it could be fun to document my food adventures. The rest is history.
Do you have any advice for someone wanting to start a blog?
YES! My best piece of advice for anyone wanting to start a blog is to: buy a domain! Buying your own domain will motivate you to start blogging and making the purchase really forces you to jump into it – try it!
I use Word Press for It’s Marky ATX, which is a more advanced version of web hosting but you can also use Wix or Weebly if you are a beginner.
What kind of camera do you use?
I currently use a Canon TSi6 and have a few lenses I use to interchange, depending on what I’m shooting.
What is your ethnicity?
I am Mexican American. My parents were born in Texas and my grandparents were born in Mexico.
Do you support any causes?
Yes. The Aids Services of Austin, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and the Central Texas Food Bank all hold a special place in my heart.
